Working with Tayna
Philosophy About Birth
As a midwife, I believe birth works best when you feel safe, seen, and truly listened to. My role is to help you create the home birth you’ve been imagining, while always keeping safety at the center.
This is your body, your baby, and your story. I walk beside you with calm guidance, clear information, and steady hands, so you never feel alone in your choices. Together we shape a plan that honors your values, culture, and comfort.
I am committed to evidence-based, community-rooted midwifery care. I keep a close eye on your health and your baby’s wellbeing so you can stay present in the moment. My hope is that you feel informed, respected, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and those first tender days postpartum.
Midwifery Services
Prenatal Midwifery Care
Slow, unhurried visits focused on your whole self, not just your chart. We review baby’s growth, lab work, nutrition, birth preferences, and any questions you have so you feel informed and supported from the very beginning.
Homebirth & Labor Support
Continuous, one-on-one care in your own space during active labor and birth. I monitor you and your baby, offer comfort measures, water, movement, and positioning, and support you in making decisions that match your values and vision for birth.
Postpartum & Newborn Care
Gentle follow-up visits in your home to check on your healing, baby’s feeding and weight, emotional wellness, and family adjustment. I provide breastfeeding/chestfeeding support, newborn checks, and space to process your birth story.
What It Feels Like To Work With Me
You’ll never be rushed. Prenatal visits are unhurried, with plenty of time for questions and real conversation.
You’ll always know what’s happening. I explain labs, options, and next steps in language that feels clear and human.
You’ll be supported emotionally, physically, and practically from early pregnancy into the fourth trimester.

FAQ
-
We start with a free consultation. You can share a little about your pregnancy and your hopes for birth, and I’ll explain how homebirth midwifery care works. We’ll both get a feel for whether we’re a good fit, and if it feels right, we’ll schedule your first full prenatal visit.
-
Homebirth is generally safest for people with a healthy, low-risk pregnancy. At our early visits we’ll review your health history, previous pregnancies, and lab work together. If anything makes homebirth less safe, I’ll talk honestly with you about your options and help you connect with the right level of care.
-
Right now my care is private pay, and many families use HSA/FSA funds. In some cases you may be able to request partial reimbursement from your insurance using a superbill. During your consultation we’ll go over costs, payment plans, and any reimbursement options that might apply to you.
