All prenatal appointments are held at our Murrieta clinical office, located inside New Life Ultrasound in central Murrieta. The office is easily accessible from Interstate 15 and serves as a hub for families across southwestern Riverside County. Home birth attendance and postpartum visits travel directly to families throughout our service area.

About Your Midwife
Tayna Chessman is a California Licensed Midwife (LM #784) and Certified Professional Midwife with more than 200 births attended and over six years in clinical practice. She founded Birthstone Midwifery — operating under the umbrella of Birthstone Women's Wellness — to provide the kind of comprehensive, unhurried, relationship-based care that she believes every family deserves throughout the childbearing year.
A certified herbalist and longtime advocate for whole-food, traditional approaches to pregnancy and postpartum wellness, Tayna brings both clinical rigor and genuine warmth to every family she serves. Her practice is built on the conviction that informed families make better decisions — and that the role of a midwife is to ensure that information is never withheld, never rushed, and never delivered without the human context that makes it meaningful.
Insurance & Access
Birthstone Midwifery accepts IEHP Medi-Cal and is actively credentialing with additional managed care plans. Many families are surprised to learn that their insurance may cover midwifery prenatal care, home birth attendance, and postpartum services — and we work with you from the beginning to understand your specific coverage before any financial commitment is made.
For families without insurance coverage for home birth, we offer transparent private-pay rates and are happy to discuss your options during a free consultation. We believe that financial barriers should not determine who has access to personalized maternity care, and we do our best to work with families across a range of circumstances.
